Nightmare: Lo nuevo de Avenged Sevenfold

En una entrevista reciente con M. Shadows acerca de la muerte de The Rev, confirma que la publicación del nuevo álbum está planeada para julio de 2010. En una entrevista reciente realizada por un diario independiente de Huntington Beach a los padres de Jimmy Sullivan, Barbara y Joseph, Bárbara comentó: «Jimmy escribió algunas canciones realmente buenas. Yo estaba muy orgullosa de él, y sé que a pesar de que será muy difícil para ellos, la banda hará un gran trabajo en su nuevo álbum». La banda planea dedicar su nuevo álbum de estudio a Jimmy.

M. Shadows y Synyster Gates revelaron en Hard Drive Radio algunos detalles del nuevo album: «El nuevo álbum, "Nightmare," está dedicado a su memoria y aunque no es un álbum conceptivo, está centrado en The Rev. Lo raro del álbum es que hay una canción que se llama "Fiction" (Ficción, nombrada así por The Rev) que primero se llamaba "Death" (Muerte) Esa canción fue la última que The Rev escribió para el álbum, y cuando la entregó dijo: ya está, ésta es la última canción para este CD. 3 días después, murió. Los chicos estuvieron en la ciudad mezclando el álbum y está casi terminado con Andy Wallace.»

Más tarde, Math hablaba en The Pulse Of Radio sobre la participación del fallecido Jimmy Sullivan: «"Jimmy en realidad dejó un par de voces grabadas" dijo. "Son como una especie de despedida. Simplemente sucede que las cantó en el tono, cantó las palabras muy claras, y no había sangrado en los micros ni nada, asi que las usamos en el disco. Asi que Jimmy en realidad canta en el disco. Todos sus rellenos de batería están intactos, es como si Jimmy las tocara. Asi que es como si fuera nuestro ultimo disco con Jimmy, mas o menos."» De esta manera se aprecia las ultimas notas de Jimmy Sullivan en este album principalmente por el sencillo nightmare que fue hecho a base de notas grabadas por The Rev , en este caso Nightmare es una de varias canciones que se logro tocar Jimmy en el ultimo album proximo a salir el 27 de Julio.
